VUIT has been shortlisted for a prestigious award in a scheme celebrating the best and brightest life sciences and medtech companies across the Midlands.
After judging by an independent panel, VUIT has been announced as finalist for the Start-Up Award in the Medilink Midlands Business Awards 2023.
The awards are designed to recognise and promote the excellence that Midlands companies are achieving at the leading edge of the healthcare sector, and learn more about innovations in the healthcare sector.
The Start-Up Award – sponsored by the Medical Technologies Innovation Facility – is for newly established companies that show a promising future.
Since its launch in May last year, VUIT has already enjoyed great success with its online resource which supports decision making for the NHS and life science sector.
VUIT’s team uses a unique blend of analytical capability and operational expertise to present interactive visuals of the latest health and social care data in a way that helps service users better understand a population and its needs.
Founder Adam Townsend said: “The NHS is at a pivotal point and there is a greater need than ever for health and social care providers to understand the drivers of population health.
“Our population health tool is proving to be a key in helping to make decisions on the deployment of resources.
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the award and look forward to celebrating with other finalists at the awards ceremony.”
The annual awards – sponsored by the University of Birmingham and the Precision Health Technologies Accelerator – have eight categories with a total of 31 finalists.
Winners and highly commended companies will be announced at a ceremony at The Great Hall, University of Birmingham, on 16th March.
Commenting on this year’s entries, Medilink Midlands’ Chief Operating Officer, Melanie Davidson, said: “Each of this year’s submissions demonstrate the exceptional pedigree of the innovative life sciences and medtech businesses based across the Midlands region, and we are proud to be able to recognise and showcase the excellence these companies are achieving in our annual Business Awards.
“We’d like to thank our independent judging panel for kindly giving their time and expertise to review the entries. The event will be a brilliant opportunity for the Midlands life science community to come together, and we look forward to celebrating the success and continued growth being enjoyed across the region.”
The winners from seven categories will be automatically entered in to the Medilink UK National Awards, part of the MedTech Innovation Conference & Expo (MTI), taking place 7th and 8th June.
