The chart allows the user to understand the relative scale of the DTOCs issue at an NHS Trust by contextualising the DTOCs with the relevant open bed base at the Trust and see how this has changed over time relative to national average

The source data for this chart are NHS England’s monthly Delayed Transfers of Care data set available here and the quarterly Bed Availability and Occupancy data set available here. These are publicly available data sets.  Explanations of each of the published measures used in the chart are available via those links. Users should familiarise themselves with this background when interpreting the charts.
